| Siegfried Checks Out the Out of Doors:
Snow has been falling for a couple of days and so I have not been out the front door. But, this morning is cold, clear, and sunny so I prepare to go and shovel the front steps and bench again. Sig is interested and sniffs the below zero air. Each time he does so he gives a little cough/sneeze…the air is too cold to take in without doing so. |

| Sitting, Waiting for Spring:
In winter, in this season of short cold days and long cold nights, Siegfried commonly sleeps 22 hours out of 24. It is a strategy that many animals and tribes resident in the northern latitudes have successfully used for thousands of years. |
