About the Prints
| My original images are made with 35mm camera and both 35mm panoramic and medium format cameras, shooting various color films. Select images are then drum scanned by experienced technicians using state of the art equipment. The resulting digital files are then transfered into Photo Shop to correct for my vision of the image in a calibrated, color managed work environment. The work that is done in Photo Shop can take minutes, hours, or days depending on the complexity of the desired results. This is where my vision of an image concept is transfered to digital reality. The files are then converted to a format that can be printed via the means that I feel will best represent what my mind and soul see.
One of the printing techniques that is used, is the LightJet, where photographic prints are exposed via red, green and blue lasers onto Fuji Crystal archive Paper. It is processed in traditional RA4 Chemistry. This paper is considered archival with prints lasting 60+ years, far better than any other color photographic material on the market today. Master files that have been created are stored on CDR and because of the color managed work environments that are employed, consistent, repeatable results are obtained within parameters that using traditional optical techniques could not accomplish. Several things to note include the following: First, the quality of the prints far exceeds what you can see on your monitor. Second, the copyright notice that you see on the monitor will not appear in the final print. Third, all prints are signed by the artist. |
